Safety Profile

gammaCore is not associated with the side effects of traditional medications or cardiac or respiratory effects

  • gammaCore is not associated with the side effects of analgesics and narcotics
  • gammaCore relies on the activation of afferent A-fibers in the vagus nerve which is not implicated in negative cardiac or respiratory effects.1,2
  • In a IDE, prospective, multi-centered pilot study,* no adverse events were reported during or after stimulation. There were no significant changes in electrocardiogram, heart rate (HR) or systolic or diastolic blood pressure (BP).
  • gammaCore should not be used by people with an implanted device such as a pacemaker, hearing aid implant, or any implanted electronic device. It should not be used in people who are diagnosed with narrowing of the arteries (carotid atherosclerosis) or those who have had surgery to cut the vagus nerve in your neck.*
  • Side effects may include hoarseness, shortness of breath, change in voice, & skin irritation. The gammaCore should not be used by people with an implanted device such as a pacemaker, hearing aid implant, or any implanted electronic device.
